John Hunter has accomplished yet another major goal of his as a result of the strong finish to his season that took place on Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio this past weekend. Hunter was able to finish 22nd in the tournament, catching a two-day total of 10 fish with a total weight of over 37 lbs, which vaulted him into the top 5 of the standings for total points in the Northern Opens. Finishing 5th, John has now qualified for the 2016 Bassmaster Elite Series.
"This is the day I have been dreaming about my entire life. Ever since the days as a little kid, setting my alarm to go fishing at the pond every morning and making sure I was back in time to watch the Bassmaster tournaments that would air around 8:00 AM," Hunter described.
"I truly have been blessed with the greatest support and people around me all season long, which has allowed me to pursue this lifelong dream."
John Hunter has had an absolutely historic first season of professional fishing. God only knows what is in store for one of the country's best young anglers in the sport. One thing is for sure...the Shelbyville, Kentucky native is surely a force to be reckoned with in every tournament he enters.
