LOTS AT STAKE FOR HUNTER ON THE POTOMAC...

The last stop on the Walmart FLW Tour, and perhaps the most important in terms of crowning a Co-Angler of the Year, has officially begun. During yesterday's mandatory off-limits day on the Potomac River, a strong storm swept through the area. That will cause most anglers to start all over in terms of strategy. The water level has changed and there is some additional debris in several areas of the lake (not to mention the mud). This already difficult piece of water has become even thougher for Hunter and the other co-anglers to figure out.
Here are the conditions from this morning's takeoff:
Air temperature: mid-60s
Forecast high: mid-80s
Wind: SE at 7 mph
Forecast weather: light winds with a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms in the evening
Water temperature: upper 70s to low 80s
Tides: low – 8:38 a.m.; high – 3:26 p.m.
Moon phase: first quarter
There is a lot on the line in the last tournment of the year on the Walmart FLW Tour as it concerns the top group of co-anglers. The Co-Angler of the Year title is likely to go to someone already in the top 5, with John Hunter currently leading the pack. The COY, crowned at the conclusion of this tournament, will add a new boat to their winnings (along with a pretty nice trophy).
